The world of mainstream music has become overwhelming, filled with garbage and "bling" from major record label's. This makes it incredibly hard to find refreshing, organic music amongst all the trash. Fortunately, There are a few artist left who are still bringing us great pieces to listen to. One of these artists calls himself Bustin Nutin, A.K.A. Leo Lenny. He is a Hip-Hop emcee from Manistee, Michigan who sacrifices everything for his music and nothing to become a part of the mainstream plague. Over intricate, self produced beats Leo demands that you Ask yourself, Why? His lyrical style provokes oneself to take a look at life in an unapologetic way. The gritty raw style in which this philosophy is professed is like that of Socrates giving a lecture in the style of Wu-tang. It is rare in the current realm of hip hop that a rapper can use intelligence and simple metaphor's to create clever traps that keep you listening to the song over and over, even when its not on your i-pod but in your head. The talent of suggesting such deep thought in an effortless way gives example to earlier influences like Louis Logic and MF Doom. Bustin's Music is a such a great refreshment from coastal mainstream because it personifies the blue collar working mans struggle that is the mid west today. Bustin's ability has yet to peak,and progression is moving at sonic speed. It has been spread in pure ways through highly promoted mix tapes, free demos and downloads. He has also honed his craft and promoted it in a completely benevolent way by creating music videos at zero financial gain and performing at fund raising events. Such as a recent concert for the building of a skate park in Big Rapids, Michigan held by Stratus Productions. Bustin represents the true artist. One who gives his life to bring out his music and expects nothing in return.
